Integrated Projects
Integrated Projects is an innovative program that provides an opportunity to apply your learning in real-world settings. Through a range of engaging and practical projects, you will develop important skills in literacy, numeracy, and work-related skills. The subject provides you with a chance to work on various projects such as farming, building items for sale, selling school produce, running primary school classes, and working with volunteer organisations. This subject offers a unique learning experience that helps you develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your future career. By working on applied learning projects, you will be better equipped to face the challenges of the modern workplace.
Personal Development Skills (Unit 1&2)
Unit 1 in Personal Development Skills (PDS) is centered around personal identity and its relationship to health and wellbeing. You will explore the factors that contribute to an individual's self-perception and how it affects their health outcomes. You will also learn about emotional intelligence, community engagement, and the impact of technology on health. Through this unit, students will gain skills in critical thinking, clear communication, and analysis of health-related information. Unit 2 builds on the themes of community and cooperation. You will learn about different types of communities and their role in promoting individual health and wellbeing. You will also examine the barriers and enablers to problem-solving within a community, and the importance of empathy and communication in creating positive change.
Personal Development Skills (Unit 3&4)
In Unit 3 of the Personal Development Skills (PDS) course, you will learn about the importance of interpersonal skills and social awareness in various contexts. You will examine leadership qualities and effective leadership traits and how they can be applied to achieving goals in personal and community contexts. The course will also explore the essential components of effective teamwork and how to lead and contribute within a team context through collaborative problem-solving activities. Additionally, you will evaluate your individual contribution and the overall effectiveness of the team. In Unit 4, you will participate in an extended community project, focusing on environmental, cultural, economic, and social issues affecting their community.
Salesian Industry Pathways Program
The SIPP program provides the opportunity to engage in external education and training while being supported by Salesian staff. You will have access to various hands-on learning experiences in different vocational areas, including visits to TAFEs and work sites. The sessions are designed to provide you with an introduction to these areas, without any planned assessments or accredited outcomes, however, there will be opportunities for you to receive accredited training in First Aid, Barista, and Food Handling Certification. The focus of these sessions is to equip you with employability skills while exposing you to a range of industry experiences.
VCE VM Literacy (Unit 1&2)
This study provides you with the opportunity to develop your literacy skills to meet the demands of the workplace, community, further study, and personal aspirations. Through analysing various text types from different cultures and contexts, including First Nations peoples' knowledge, you will learn to participate in discussions and debates, and gain an understanding of the values represented in different texts. In Unit 1, you will learn to construct and respond to a range of digital content for workplace, community, and vocational purposes. In Unit 2, you will learn to create annotations, written, oral, and multimedia responses to diverse arguments and present points of view supported by evidence.
VCE VM Literacy (Unit 3&4)
In Unit 3, you will develop your skills in understanding and accessing informational, organisational, and procedural texts, which reflect real-life situations encountered in vocational settings or workplaces. You will learn to recognise, analyse, and evaluate the structures and semantic elements of these texts, as well as their purpose and audience. This will prepare you to deal with a range of technical content encountered throughout adulthood, such as safety reports, public health initiatives, tax forms, contracts, and promotional videos. In Unit 4, you will investigate, analyse, and create content for self-advocacy, product promotion, or community group advocacy. You will explore the importance of creating a brand and how different platforms work together to produce one central message to influence an audience.
VCE VM Numeracy (Unit 1&2)
This study will equip you with the skills and knowledge to develop and enhance your numeracy practices for personal, public, and vocational purposes. You will develop mathematical skills that consider the local, national, and global environments, and become familiar with appropriate technologies. These units provide a foundation for you to solve problems in real-world contexts including workplace, personal, further learning, and community settings. Unit 1 covers four areas of study: number, shape, quantity and measures, and relationships. Unit 2 covers: dimension and direction, data, uncertainty and systematics. The two Units are framed around working mathematically across six numeracy contexts, including personal, civic, financial, health, vocational, and recreational numeracy.

VCE VM Work Related Skills (Unit 1 & 2)
VCE Vocational Major Work Related Skills (WRS) aims to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the constantly evolving world of work. You will learn about workplace environments and how to apply concepts and terminology related to your future careers. Effective communication skills will be developed to enable self-reflection and self-promotion. This study will contribute two units towards the VCE Vocational Major. Unit 1 covers careers and learning for the future, and Unit 2 focuses on workplace skills and capabilities. Each unit is designed to achieve specific outcomes and help you understand the relationship between skills, knowledge, capabilities, and achieving your desired career pathways.
Work Related Skills (Unit 3&4)
The aim of this study is to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the workplace and its terminologies. It will help you navigate the rapidly changing world of work and its impact on individuals. The study will enable you to comprehend the relationship between skills, knowledge, capabilities, and pathway goals, and develop effective communication skills for self-reflection and self-promotion. The structure of the study comprises of two units. Unit 3 focuses on the core elements of a healthy, collaborative, inclusive, and harmonious workplace, and is divided into three main areas. Unit 4 focuses on developing and applying knowledge and skills related to portfolios, which culminates in the formal presentation of a completed portfolio in a panel-style interview.
World of Work
The World of Work will teach you work-related terminology and concepts related to the rapidly changing working environments. You will benefit from exploring and investigating potential employment and study pathway options based on your own skills and attributes. You will develop a career action plan and make meaningful connections to industry and the work environments. Through project-based learning, you will have an opportunity to develop employability skills and key life skills such as developing a resume and cover letter, registering for a Tax File Number, learning interview techniques, as well as looking at potential future work options. This subject will prepare you for the world of work and is suitable for all students and may particularly benefit those who are unsure of their pathway or who are looking to take on a VCE Vocational Major pathway.
