Dance - Unit 1&2
Create and perform your own dance works and study the dance works of others through performance and analysis. Undertake regular and systematic dance training to develop your physical skills. Develop choreographic skills by exploring personal and learnt movement vocabularies and study ways other choreographers have created and arranged movement to communicate an intention and create their own dance works. You will perform a learnt solo and/or group dance work as well as your own works. You will also analyse how ideas are communicated through dance and how dance styles, traditions, and works can influence dance practice, the arts, artists, and society more generally.
Dance - Unit 3&4
In Unit 3 and 4 Dance you will: Develop physical skills through regular and systematic dance training; Develop safe dance practice through safe use of the body; Develop skills required to learn and master movement sequences and demonstrate spatial awareness when dancing with others; Develop your understanding of choreographic processes and the processes for realising dance performances; Respond creatively and kinaesthetically to ideas, emotions, observations, and explorations of movement to communicate an intention; Observe, experience, and write about dance in an analytical, critical and reflective manner; Understand influences on dance works and the influences that these works have had on the arts, artists, and society.

Drama - Epic Theatre
In Epic Theatre, you will concentrate on the drama studies centered around the work of theatre practitioner, Bertolt Brecht. Drama - Hysterical Histories
In this unit, we will use 'Horrible Histories' as our inspiration, creating comedic performances that explore different moments, characters and inventions throughout history! We will analyse different performances and learn how they use comedy, expression and a range of other skills, in order to create our own comedies. FAME - Foundations of Art Making & Exhibiting
If there was one word to sum up art, it would be individuality! Art allows you to explore imagery and art forms that interest you as an individual. Projects include conceptual portraits and appropriation using sculpture to create original interpretations of famous artworks, with options for an individual choice extension project. You will conduct medium trials and evaluate their results in annotations. You will examine artworks from a range of historical, contemporary and cultural contexts including First Nations artists. You will curate an exhibition, considering the choices of art display. Art at this level is an excellent introduction to VCE Art Making and Exhibiting and careers in art, design, and creative industries.
Film and Photography (Media)
Have you ever wanted to create an amazing photograph, produce a short film, or experiment with animation? In this hands-on course, you will step into the role of creator, photographer and filmmaker. Through practical workshops and creative projects, you will learn to use cameras, studio lighting, green screens, animation tools and editing software to bring your ideas to life while developing your own creative style. You will also explore how films and photography use camera angles, lighting, sound and editing to influence audiences - just like in The Dark Knight and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Interiors & Architecture
Here's the chance to design your dream house! You may prefer to design an island getaway for a celebrity or even a space station or sports stadium! Interior and exterior spaces are all around us and impact the way we live, and how we work, play, and feel. You will discover unique design careers and how design has changed over time, learn colour psychology, and apply your creative ideas to your projects. Using a design process, you will learn manual and digital drawing methods as well as model making. You will present your "Interior Design" project in a 'lookbook' or website. You will also consider design for the benefit of individuals and communities in both indoor and outside spaces in the "Shelter Me" project, investigating the importance and design of emergency shelters.

Whether it's a photography portfolio, short film, animation or online project, you will take on the role of director, producer and creator to bring your ideas to life. Through hands-on workshops, you will experiment with a range of media techniques while developing your own creative style. You might create a horror short film, a sci-fi animation, a comedy sketch or a striking photography folio while exploring how different genres engage audiences. Stories in all their forms are at the heart of the media and its relationship with audiences. Through stories, narratives are constructed that engage, and are read, by audiences. You will develop and refine your planning and analytical skills, expression, and critical and creative thinking, as well as strengthen your communication skills and technical knowledge. Media leads to pathways for further study at tertiary level or in vocational education and training settings including screen and media, marketing and advertising, games and interactive media, communication and writing, graphic and communication design, photography, and animation.

Media, Art, and Design is an introduction to three fun visual art subjects to tell stories and express yourself. MAD is perfect for creative students who enjoy both traditional and digital art forms. M: Media - an introduction to creating a short animation using a range of manual and digital applications. Planning your animation with storyboards and character creation. A: Art - fundamentals of art to improve drawing and painting skills, explore art mediums, and create a finished artwork. D: Design - an introduction to the design brief and design process to create a digital toy as an introduction to technical drawing for 3-d objects and screen designs.
Music
In Focus Music you develop as performers, creators and critical listeners, preparing you for VCE and VET Music pathways. You build an understanding of musical language and theory concepts, including rhythm, pitch, harmony, structure, tone colour and expressive devices, and apply these in practical and listening activities. Through performance, you develop technical and expressive skills as either a soloist or in a group, working towards confident performances of a repertoire. You also explore music analysis, examining how musical elements are used across styles. A key project involves analysing a selected song and creating a reimagined performance, culminating in a live performance. This subject provides the foundational skills and knowledge for further study in VCE and VET Music.
Music
Engage Music is a practical, hands-on subject where you will develop your understanding of musical language and concepts through performance. Explore piano, drums and guitar, learning both the theoretical and practical skills required for each instrument, including rhythm, pitch, harmony and structure. You also investigate how these instruments produce sound and explore their historical development and role across different musical styles. The course continues to develop instrumental skills through both concert band and rock band settings, with a strong focus on refining ensemble performance, communication, and musicianship. Explore music through listening and analysis, developing the ability to identify and discuss how musical elements are used across different styles and genres. Creative skills are expanded through SoundCloud-based composition tasks, where you experiment with digital tools to produce and share original works. Music theory remains a key component. Prior knowledge is extended as you deepen your understanding and apply theory concepts more confidently. This subject provides a strong pathway for further study in Engage Music and continued skill development.
Music - Repertoire or Contemporary Performance - Unit 3&4
VCE Music (Units 3 & 4) offers you the opportunity to specialise in either Contemporary Performance or Repertoire Performance, depending on the program offered by the school. Both pathways develop you as a skilled performer, thoughtful musician and reflective artist, with a strong focus on preparing and presenting a cohesive performance program. In both options, you will build advanced technical and expressive skills on your chosen instrument or voice, performing as either a soloist or as part of an ensemble. Develop confidence, stagecraft and the ability to communicate musical ideas with clarity and intent. Engage deeply with music language, applying knowledge of rhythm, pitch, harmony, structure, tone colour and expressive devices to refine your performances. Through analysis and reflection, evaluate your own work and the work of others, developing an informed understanding of style, interpretation and musical decision-making. In Contemporary Performance, explore modern styles and genres, focusing on creativity, personal voice and the manipulation of musical elements. Reimagine works, incorporate improvisation, and use contemporary techniques and technologies to shape your artistic identity. In Repertoire Performance, focus on the interpretation and realisation of established works, developing stylistic accuracy and depth of understanding. Emphasis is placed on preparing and presenting a refined and cohesive program that demonstrates control, precision and expressive nuance.
Music - Unit 1&2
VCE Music Units 1 and 2 develops you as a performer, creator and critical listener, building the foundation for further study in Units 3 and 4. Explore music through the interconnected areas of performance, music language and analysis, and composition. Through music performance, develop technical and expressive skills as either a soloist or as part of a group, working towards confident and stylistically informed performances of a chosen repertoire. In music language, build your understanding of rhythm, pitch, harmony, structure, tone colour and expressive devices, applying theory knowledge in practical and aural contexts. Through music analysis, you will examine how musical elements and compositional devices are used across different styles and genres, developing the ability to describe, interpret and evaluate music.
Music Foundations
Develop a broad range of hands-on foundation skills and knowledge in Music. You will gain experience playing a variety of instruments while also exploring digital music creation. Learning is supported through online applications such as Musition and Auralia, which build understanding and fluency in the rudiments of music theory. Composition skills are developed using digital tools like Beepbox and Dinobox, where you will create original game-themed music. Explore the elements of music and how they can be manipulated to create contrasting musical themes. Collaboration is an important aspect of the course, work together with others to rehearse and perform as a concert band on your chosen instrument. Key theory concepts - including symbols, notation in treble and bass clef, rhythmic notation, and metre recognition - are introduced and applied through the Musition platform. This subject provides a strong foundation for further study and pathways into Explore Music.
The Dance Collective
In this subject you will learn how to express yourself through movement by exploring the world of Disney. You will discover how to bring Disney stories to life through dance and create characters with unique movements. Along with learning how to dance, you will also develop your literacy skills by documenting your brainstorming, researching, planning, and choreographic processes in a reflective dance journal. Additionally, you will explore how First Nations people have effectively passed on valuable information through the art of Dreamtime stories, creating a link between dance and storytelling.
VET Cert III Music - Performance
CUA30920 Certificate III in Music Performance (VCE), will provide you with knowledge, skills and competency that will enhance your training and employment prospects in the music and creative arts industries. Units 1 and 2 offer fundamentals of copyright arrangements, planning a career in the creative arts and creative work-based tasks, creating simple musical pieces, developing aural skills and performing as part of a group or as a soloist, honing in on your performance and ensemble skills. VCE VET Music Units 3 and 4 offer scored assessment. 50% of the score is acquired through 5 units of study clustered into 3 SACs and include units such as developing improvisation and stagecraft skills, preparing and planning for musical performances, honing in on techniques for your area of specialisation with an external performance examination that accounts for the other 50% of your score. This is a two-year course with all units completed in sequence of Units 1-4. This subject can be elected and completed over two years from year 10 as well as year 11. NOTE: The Units 3 and 4 sequences of VCE VET Music are not designed as stand-alone studies. Students are strongly advised against undertaking the Units 3 and 4 sequence without first completing Units 1 and 2.
